Acclaimed punk rock band Pennywise, who released their eleventh album, Yesterdays, on July 15th, 2014 via Epitaph, which is the first album to feature lead singer Jim Lindberg since his 2009 departure, performed at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver last night
First time collaborating with Alex Jiggs and I'm pretty stoked on some of the images we created! Two simple outfits on a rainy day at Spanish Banks/Locarno Beach while testing out my D700 as my D610 has finally bit the dust. Alex was a pleasure to work with - I haven't laughed that hard on a shoot in a long time, and the posing came by so naturally. It started pissing rain out by the end of the shoot but I think the overcast tones definitely worked in our favour.
Ta-ku has just embarked on his first North American headliner tour and stopped by the Vogue Theatre to bring his brand of cinematic, melancholic instrumental hip hop to Vancouver. In tow were a drummer, keyboardists and Wafia, Ta-ku’s vocalist and fellow collaborator. Having only recently been introduced to the Australian Future Classic signee, I had high hopes for the show. His recordings impressed me with their high production value, great vocals, adept use of dusty samples and mature tone.
